Some one should make a poll asking what age do you think you'll be when a game is released.

yeah alex i agree with you 110% they need a lax game. we did have a good time with that bad NLL game when we traveled though. not as much fun as the fifa tourneys though.

If its hard to find the game, go to sports, and then extreme sports, and the Lax game is about half way down the page

ALEX,
LETS REMEMBER THAT THE 6 MILLION UNITS REPRESENTED IN THE STATS IS FOR GAMES SOLD WORLD-WIDE NOT JUST THE UNITED STATES. DO YOU THINK THAT THE ENGLISH, SPANISH AND GERMANS DON'T PLAY VIDEO GAMES?

Thanks, Earl. In my original article, I conceded that fact, but I guess I took it out in the final draft. You are right about that, but I could not find the data to back up exactly the demographics as to where FIFA was being sold.
Great Article

Great article Alex. I have always been a big fan of EA Sports and video games myself. Playing NHL 2005 or whatever version is great. When I started playing lacrosse last year, I was wondering if they have ever made a Lacrosse game. Unfortunately they made Blast Lacrosse...which I hear sucks. They definetaly need to make a NCAA Lacrosse 2005 or at least an EA Sports Lacrosse game. They did Rugby last year, and so maybe they will try Lacrosse...you never know. Lets hope.

I know a lot of people always say why not a lacrosse game if they have rugby. I don't know about sales for sure but I always thought I heard that game sold real well overseas, especially in New Zealand/Austrailia. Don't get me wrong, I think lacrosse game would be awesome and I want one too, but who knows. I bet a lacrosse game could sell more but I always thought that game sold well not in the US.

It makes you wonder what companies, such as EA, consider when releasing a video game. When you look at NCAA Football or Madden, which are games primarily geared towards the US, does EA really take into consideration whether or not European or Asian countries will buy games like that? I mean, how many copies of those games are sold in countries other than the US? With that said, how can a company such as EA not come up with another game geared soley towards an American market?
On a separate note, I heard a rumor that a game was already in the works...

while a college game woudl be great, i think an MLL game would do wonders for that league and help them make their expansion plans more of a reality. you could charge $70 per copy and the sales would be the same.
chris, where did you hear that rumor?

I heard that rumor from some guys I played with in Vail. They went to Wheeling Jesuit (small D2 school in WV). Apparently, they heard it from a reliable source and that a lot of people in the East were already talking about it. I'm surprised we haven't had anyone confirm/reject Alex's article or any of our posts. The game set-up was to take all the D1 teams and the top 10 D2 and D3 of the 2004 season--no MDIA though.
