Lacrosse Stories for Father's Day

Postby Catlax on Sun Jun 19, 2005 8:02 am

On this day of celebration for fathers everywhere, I thought we could start a post on your fondest remembrance of your Dad and the sport you love.

My favorite is looking over to the sideline of a high school summer league game. The temperature in NJ in July was around 95 deg. with 95% humidity. My dad was standing there, sweating like crazy, holding ice water for me! He was the only parent on the sideline. The heat didn't seem to bother me as much after that.

I miss him greatly!

my dad taught me to cradle, throw, and catch. He never liked to throw the baseball or football around near as much as lacrosse. I guess that is part of the reason why I started playing. I remember the first time we threw around in the back yard. I had a brand new Laser High-wall and he was playing with an STX Sam. Good memories.
