Will there be any eastern PA teams joining the uslia that you guys know of? Because the ones near me are in the NCLL and I don't know how well organized that league is compared to the USLIA

IUP is in the league. We are more western PA than eastern PA, but most of our players are from the eastern part of the state.

There won't be many eastern Pa schools eligible, because most of them have varsity lacrosse. That's why their club teams are in the NCLL.

actually there are a lot of ncll teams in the east that are eligible. All of the pa state schools. Kutztown lockhaven bloomsburg west chester etc. They all have club teams but dont have varsity teams. west chester used to be varsity but the program got dropped there.

I could be wrong, but I think the biggest problem with eastern PA schools joining right now is finding a good conference for them. Until the PCLL is able to get down into NJ or the SELC is able to get close enough, it's a tough call.

The SELC already spans some 12 - 14 hours (Central Florida to Central Virginia). I doubt that conference could/would expand another 6+ hours further North into PA.
Like many other MDIA conferences, there are problems with some of the current MDIA teams in the SELC. I think the CCLA or PCLL is better suited for Eastern PA/NJ teams that may come into the MDIA today. But those conferences have their own issues, as well.
New conferences need to develop in the Mid-Atlantic and NY/NJ areas. But until those new teams "bite the bullet" and come into the MDIA (in one of our existing conferences), it is all "pie in the sky" discussion. See geographically isolated MDIA teams like Pittsburgh and Buffalo for an example of this.

We would love to have them in the PCLL. If we can get into NYC, we can easily take them. The problem right now is that the 5 or 6 NYC teams that are available to come here don't want to unless another one comes. We are still trying though. I would guess that by 2007 we will have 2-3 NYC teams.
