For those of you that have a burning rules question or interpretation, or just have a desire to see the arcane things that come up regarding lacrosse rules, I came across an excellent site the other day;

I know that Sonny was considering adding such a section to the USLIA site, but was concerned that it would just become a place to flame on the refs. I think this shows that it can be done in a respectful but lively manner with a lot of good exchanges of thoughts and ideas. You'll also notice that in my short time on there I've been an active contributor!
Must have had a lot of thoughts stored up.
Very good site if your inclined at all to the officials' perspective.

I'm thinking about adding a new forum here on USLIA.com for rules discsussion. Just wondering how to best handle "delicate subjects."

Just be sure that all examples are "sanitized". No mention of specific teams, refs, dates or locations. Then it becomes a less personal form of ref bashing!

Just kidding, I actually think this type of site will do wonders in educating players and coaches about rules without taking up game time.

You could institute the new NFHS rule that allows a coach to ask for a double-horn to ask a question about a rules application only. Questioning a judgement call? Verboten!
I think the moderator can also control the postings, and hopefully also the posters will appreciate the intent of the forum and act accordingly.
I know from doing games that a lot of players and coaches don't have a complete grasp of the rulebook (along with many officials! There is s lot to keep track of) and I think they would appreciate a place where they can ask their questions. I think there are a fair number of people on here that ref, or play and ref, that you will receive a wide range of answers - hopefully correct!

As I told Sonny, I'd be willing to do it, but since we've covered a lot of these topics at LacrosseForums, sometimes my response would be "Here, check out this 30-post thread!" with a link.

A moderator should be like a goof referee....

If you're doing you're job right, NOBODY should even notice you're there.

Of course, maybe Sonny isn't the right guy to enforce that one
