I am sure that many MDIA teams recruit, however, my question is to rules and regulations? Are there rules on when and how many times you can contact a current HS player? Are they similiar to NCAA restrictions? Do any of you MDIA coaches send letters, host visits, etc...?
Thanks!

Most programs do not have the resources to actively recruit. I know that almost all of our recruits here contact us first, and then we proceed with sending them information about the program, hosting them (have them stay with a player for a weekend, go to a football game, attend classes, etc), and other info like that. I'd say that almost all of the recruits are seniors in high school as well. Don't know what NCAA restrictions there are on recruiting, but I'm sure most programs don't ever come close to recruiting like varsity programs.

Maybe Lars will touch on this topic but I know that here at the U of Minensota we are NOT allowed to talk to any player until they are finally attending clases in the fall. I don't know why but I know that is the rule for us and the girls team. I know Graff from UM-Duluth is VERY active in the recruiting scene in Minnesota...
