Tired of Colorado College? Me too . . .

NOTE: If they change it before you see it, CC has listed their recent victory over the Colorado Buffaloes, but not their losses to CSU and Sonoma. Very interesting.
I would like to personally thank the Division III Colorado College Tigers for "officially" pointing out that their games against the three MDIA opponents don't "officially" count towards their schedule since the MDIA is not "officially" considered a varsity entity. Special thanks to Coach Dave Zazzaro and the rest of the staff for making sure to maintain the integrity of his institution and all of Division III lacrosse by distancing his program as far as possible from the MDIA. Even though this measure is obviously motivated by the fear that the MDIA is passing programs like his - i.e. mediocre Division III programs with no real upside or anything to play for - by, it is important to keep in mind what "official" college lacrosse is all about.
I would also like to personally thank the Division III Colorado College Tigers for educating me on the simple matter of "class," something Coach Zazzaro's program supposedly prides itself on. Class is apparently an option when your team is losing, especially to someone who is "inferior" to you. Class is apparently something you only have to care about as it relates to how people treat you. Class is something you don't have to worry about if the team you are playing is not recognized by their school as a Varsity program. Bottom line: Have class when you feel like it and be disgusted at teams who don't show it back to you.
I really used to like this program. I almost went there after my father played hockey and lacrosse at CC and had great respect for what they were doing for lacrosse in Colorado. Luckily I didn't have the grades to get in and was relegated to that lowly program about 120 miles to the north. For a team that has such a proud history, I would be ashamed to be an alumnus of a school that does not have the respect or dignity to take their losses like men and respect their opponents as equals. If you would like to ask Coach Zazzaro what happened to their formerly proud tradition, you can reach him here:

Frankly, there aren't many opponents near CC to be acting like this to the ones who are gracious enough to travel to play them. DU is way out of their league and the only way to get teams into Colorado Springs is to hold three-day invitational type tourneys because there are no other games nearby. But instead of seeing the CSU and CU games as rivalries against equal and solid teams, the Tigers have relegated themselves to excuses and cheap shots (mostly in the realm of media - their play on the field is mostly clean) when losing or winning.
My idea for CSU next year when they make the trip to Colorado Springs (because CC will never travel back to Fort Collins or Boulder or Rohnert Park or Provo). Practice pennies. Why waste the nice jerseys on such a meaningless game? Break out the reversibles and save the nice greens for a game that actually means something.
