New Start-Up Guide for Lacrosse Clubs!

Postby Sonny on Wed Apr 09, 2008 9:22 pm

If you are a new (or struggling) lacrosse club, check out the Start-Up Guide (PDF download):
http://www.collegelax.us/files/StartUpManual_040908.pdf

(It's also available in the FAQ for permanent reference.)

Special thanks to Dave Leach of the RMLC for putting together this very informative document!

I agree, I could have used this last fall. Any new team could really benefit from this.

Thanks guy.

It was designed mainly to circumvent all the e-mails we get in our conference from teams that are starting up in this small college here or that one there.

Most of the time I would be the one the execs would send 'em to, i'd spend hours answering e-mails or talking on the phone giving them "advice". And then they'd realize how much work it takes, and 90% of the time, they'd just give up.

So I figured i'd put it all in one place, as a kind of guide, and then just send them there and stop blowing time on it when they're going to give up anyway.

It was written to be used in any conference, any area of the country, and the examples used can really just be changed to be specific to that team and it'll prove to be effective (at least I hope so).

Anyway - if you ever have any suggestions for things to add, or find some glaring typos, let me know and i'll update it.

That's great stuff...I was recently contacted by a new coach at the University of South Carolina - Beufort who is looking to start up a division 2 team next year with the goal of joining the SELC in the coming years, I'll definitely forward it on.
