Chris Deeke will be an All American player for A&M.
Mike Vaccaro is the exact opposite of decent faceoff man. He is the best in the state of Texas.

Agree on Deeke.
As for little "Mikey", I haven't really seen him play since I was back at Plano so he was real young with the only other time being at the alumni game last year and he was holding his own with Simon Telfer who is a good face off man.

Getting back to the main topic, what High Schools in Colorado consistently produce the best players. The three that come to my mind are Cherry Creek, Denver East, and Kent-Denver.
What do you all think?

There is one notable omission from the SI/Berkeley/O'Dowd list due to the fact that I can't remember his name, but someone out there should know. He played defense at Sonoma and was an AA who was on the 2002 championship team. He was from SI; can anybody help?

Probably because they weren't admitted. UCSB is an outstanding school and is increasingly difficult to win admission to. In addition, SB unlike most of the other UC's ranks applicants by school, so one is not only competing against the other pool of applicants but also against other students at one's own school. If a large contingent of 04 SI grads happened to apply who had better academic credentials than the SI lacrosse players they would be admitted and the laxer's denied even though the SI lax applicants might have better credentials than applicants from other schools with fewer wanting to go to UCSB.
I think Baller 1/Catlax Man posted on this subject on the old board.

Santa Barbara was my first choice two years ago. I had above a B average GPA and a SAT score in the 1300's. I got rejected the first time. I got more reccomendations and appealed, only to be rejected again. I appealed just once more, I think, got Demonte to write me a rec., the President of Saint Ignatius, and many other reputable rec. but still didnt get in. Standards are raising higher and higher every year.

For you California guys - I was reading one of my Lacrosse Magazines the other day and it was the one that ranked all the high school teams in the country (September/October 2004). They have Torrey Pines at #23 but no mention of SI, O'Dowd or any of the other schools you guys are mentioning.
My question is why does Lacrosse Magazine have them so highly ranked when you guys have only mentioned them once in this thread, and briefly at that, when talking about the Cal teams?

Because they are from San Diego and all of the posters are from NorCal. Last year Torrey Pines, La Costa Cyn, and Coronado were all good. They went back east and beat a NY high school and they all beat SI.
But, in years past, the Nor Cal teams mentioned (BHS, ODowd, SI and Acalanes club) were the best.

Yeah, those three are always in the mix, however Regis and Araphoe (coached by Brian Langtry from the Mammoth) have had some great players in the last 3 years and both have had a handful of DI/DIII commitments.

Another team from San Diego that has produced some talent was Serra High School. In 1998 they won the state championship with several talented players. On of the players was all american at Syracuse.
