Here is another pic of the stadium from 1999 but this is pre-new turf and the hard rock gravel pit that we played on when we played out there 3 years ago.

I would have to say that Harding has a great set up for Div B. We play on our Varsity Soccer Field which is absolutely beautiful. We also get to use the locker rooms in the Athletic Center for visiting teams. Add to it the sound system the school gives us and its really nice.

I think that when Lindenwood's Hunter Stadium is complete it will be the premier facility in the whole MDIA. It is about 90% finished now. In addition to being the home for the Lion's it is also the site of the Missouri State High School Lacrosse Championships.
In all honesty it is probably a better lacrosse stadium than most D-1 schools have, from what I have seen personally, as well as on CSTV. LU is very lucky to get to play where they do.
The new stadium will boast brand new bleachers, VIP bucket seats on both ends of the endzones, brand new $25,000 score board, and new sound system, brand new glass press box, new concession stands, as well as a gift shop, among other things, all of which the lacrosse team as full access to during the season. Also locker rooms are provided for both teams as well as one for the referees. The surface is Field Turf.

Early in the season U of U is really nice too....but nothing will ever beat KSU's big stadium. It is really nice, and the turf is really fast. Denver University, DU, which isnt a MDIA team but lots of MDIA teams play them, their field is nice...but the turf is getting kinda old, and it leads to alot of injuries, including my own left knee having to be totally rebuilt.

Dave,

is that your new field or the old one? I haven't seen the new one yet, but the old one with the quicksnad like mud on the crease was always an adventure.

Top MDIA Fields I have seen:

Boston University: The old football stadium that use to house the Boston Braves. Original outfield wall is still part of the stadium.

Michigan: The fieldhouse may be tight, but it still rocks.

BYU: Like Laxc21 said, great field, great setting

Texas State: They get to use their varsity soccer field for special games, very nice natural grass

Ha no depot is the mud pit, and 'adventure' is about the nicest way you could put it. I generally feel the word dump is a more appropriate for description. We always seemed to play right after a rugby game in the rain. Getting us off that field was my goal from day 1, unfortunatly it took 3 years.

Sherman field is our turf this year though. We get this in two years too, at least for practice http://www.uconnhuskies.com/AllStories/ ... 0722a.html somewhat like pittsburgh's setup for those who've played there.

UCONN's football rise from hell will certainly garner the nice facilities. Lucky kids.

yeah, there's the mud I was talking about. I think that was the main factor that caused all you games to be scores like 6-4 or 4-3. bounce shots never worked, and you couldn't get any footing in the crease to get close up shots.

John Paul wrote:If you're just talking about the fields themselves, it's hard to beat some of the Florida fields we've seen. LMU has a very nice surface. I've heard great things about one of the San Diego schools (although I'm forgetting which right now).

I think you are referring to the University of San Diego. It was a very nice facility up on the hills of San Diego. The buildings in the back are actually some dorms and there is a nice brick wall across the field that you cant see from this picture. This is probably the best place I have ever played at. I tried to put the image in the post, but it was too big and IE didn't adjust it; but the link is below.

BYU was one of the best places to play. a gorgeous setting right at the base of the Rocky Mountains. i will never forget going out in the spring and seeing the snow covered mountains. awesome. their soccer stadium is nice too. there was always a good crowd.

michigan was nice, but small, really load in that place

Ya our school has been hemorrhaging money in the last couple years...and a lot of it is going directly to athletics. Wish I would be around to reap the benefits though.

Based on the fall ball pictures from the website, it appears CSU practices on a lush green field near a lake and right in front of the student section. I'm not sure if that is their game field or not.
