Also the partial MDIA schedule on the main USLIA.com page is updated with these same game scores.
Note that these scores are drawn directly from USLMDIA.org (the MDIA admin web site). Therefore, please do not contact me (or USLIA.com) to report scores or request info on how to update USLIA.com with your team's scores.
It is up to each individual team to report their scores & stats in a prompt fashion on USLMDIA.org. (That published information will flow downstream to USLIA.com immediately.) If you have problems accessing the USLMDIA.org site, you will need to contact your appropriate MDIA conference representative (not USLIA.com).
Thanks!

there seems to be a problem in that it doesnt correctly add goals and assists to make points. points seem to just include goals. don't goals and assists usually add up to make points? i guess maybe this is one of the bugs you were referring to earlier...

without trying to stir the pot too much, how can you give any credability to the assist stat. clearly people should be rewarded for being able to create and set up a teammate.... but every team has their own interpretation of what an assist is.
if we are talking about points, a goal counts for as much as an assist, and if it is an actual assist i agree completely. but if teams are just handing out assists in order to rack up the points totals then we have a problem.
i have no proposal for a fix, but it seems unjust if one players has 30 points, of which 20 are goals, and another has only 10 goals, but 20 assists who is to know how many of the assists are legit, yet both players are credited with 30 points.

I guess the tried and true method would be the scorebook itself that the team scorekeeper can keep track of each player's goals, assists, et al. I doubt all of the teams have that database on their websites.
I like Mike Holt'z prediction that all of the bugs would be ironed out by the year 2097.
It will all work out in due time.

Matt,
Stats question: I noticed that the stats for the USLIA page don't match the stats for the USLMDIA page, as in some of the teams are missing. Is this due to the number of games they've played (1 vs 3-5 by other teams)? As much as I enjoy seeing so many Claremont Players listed in the Div. B rankings, I thought it was only fair to ask for the sake of the players who appear to be missing.

We've been running a 3 game minimum for a while. It will all equal out in the end.
Also, we've been running a system where games played is equal to the games your team has played. Shortly I'll be implementing a system where we mirror the games played from uslmdia.

this might be the wrong board for this but it pertains to scoring... our goalie had a 63 percent save percentage last year because we yelled at the stat keepers about not every shot being a save... he was about sixth in save percentage according to the statistics but he was the all conference goalie...
i dont think the numbers are looked at as much as people think because everyone knows that u cant trust the stats keepers... i would like the recognition of being the number one statistical goalie this year but id rather that be ignored and get the votes for being the difference in the game or making some good clears that set up goals...
i dunno its just kinda lame that u cant really measure how good a guy is really gonna be until u play him... ur right it wont ever get fixed but the assist problem is even harder to get a grasp on because thats judgement.

Actually in something of a recent occurence-
I had the good fortune to attend a recent game that was in my area. I was keeping notes and recording goals and assists- mind you I was not affiliated with either team, so my stats were as close to neutral as human error would allow.
Following the game I went to the stats table to check my results, and found that they matched- I had recorded 7 assists for team A. Now today, when I looked at USLMDIA.org to double check player names, I notice that, despite the fact that following the end of the game, their OFFICIAL stat book, signed by the referees, had 7 assists, yet the team's own self reported stats had 12. Also, I noticed that when adding up the total number of goals, it was equal to more than the team itself scored. (something I've noticed with other teams, but just dismissed as an error).
What are the policies for regulating accuracy? I've not included the names of the teams, but it also wouldn't be amazingly difficult to find out from USLMDIA.org. I think the only real interpretation of this would be that the person in charge of input was also trying to pad their team's numbers.
I think that when teams carry out scorekeeping and reporting in this way it
1) represents a breach of integrity
2) gives the team and the league in general less of a claim at legitimacy
3) takes away from my confidence in the statistics
4) is unfair to rival teams and future opponents
I don't know why it upset me this greatly when I found out that the numbers had been changed- but I wanted to inquire as to what the policies were regarding mis-reporting figures to pad your teams stats.
I guess I was pretty mad when I wrote this- no... not mad. Disappointed.

Wow Waterboy, that is definitely disappointing that a representative would consciously pad stats.
If we want this to be successful, maybe calling out a few teams is necessary.
I'd be in favor of displaying those teams who fail to submit game reports on a Red List for all to see. There's nothing like bad publicity to bring teams into compliance. It's a step before fines and sanctioning and one that I bet would be effective.
While JP made note that the database timestamps these occurrences. It would be much easier to peer pressure teams through Red Listing rather than having to go through all game reports to search for missing ones, let the database speak for itself.
Hope we can fix this before it becomes an epidemic.
