So I know this is probably a dumb idea...
But I'm watching March Madness, and the NCAA has their logo everywhere (thank god they have a 40 foot logo on the court cause I wasn't too sure who's tourney it was)
But they also have logos on all the jerseys. With the raise of visibility of MCLA teams nationally, how about providing all teams in the national tournament MCLA logos which they must present on their uniforms. It could be good to see that logo in photos. Plus it would give teams another badge of honor for the following years if they continue to wear it on their uniforms.
I know huge questions about where on the jerseys, who will put them on, who regulates having them there, etc...so not necessarily an idea for 2008, but going forward....
MCLA Logo on Jerseys

If you go that route, you could also say why not put the conference logo on the uniforms?
It may not be entirely feasible, but it's a good idea nonetheless

Conferences can do something similar. Shouldn't be of any interest of the MCLA --- as long as the logo isn't in the same spot or larger than a potential MCLA logo
Conferences should have a sticker on the helmet...good idea C-Lax16!!

It might be something to incorporate into the tournament first.

That's how I'd start. Make it a badge of honor for tournament teams.
Whether you recognize it or not, the NCAA is a brand and it has brand recognition and brand loyalty. It wouldn't hurt to explore options to turn MCLA into a lacrosse brand as well. (The mag helps, but there can always be more options and opportunities)

nice idea-but do it in tourney-those team are more apt to actually follow the guidelines and do it right. If the whole country is made to do it-there'd be some wahoo somewhere who'd think it would be funny to sew on their armpit or something.

i think a jersey patch for the national tourney (no date) just some small discreet MCLA logo is a great idea.
and there should be a strict standard of where on the jersey they are placed.

Yeah, the NCAA patches are given specific locations so that you don't end up with armpit patches.
I don't think I would do the sticker thing because of all the different helmet decals and award stickers that different teams have. The patch would stand out.

Who do you propose foot the bill for the logos? Who is going to sew each of them on? Who foots the bill if there is damage to the jersey?
I think it is a great idea and that each team should where their conference logo on both home and away jerseys. The MCLA logo can be reserved for tournament teams.

You can pick up an iron on patch pretty easily. They could be handed out in the "goody" bag that each player gets. Just mandate it has to be in the top right or left or something like that. Probably be in the $1 to $1.50 range.

Call me crazy but if you can arrange travel for 30 guys to Dallas, re-arrange final exams, convince parents to skip graduation, do all the paperwork for the tournament.....all to the tune of $15-20,000 per team....I am pretty sure sewing a $1.50 patch on a jersey would be doable.
