Line a field

What works best to line a NEXT-TURF field? It needs to be something that will fade away eventually. Does tape work good and if so what kind?

tapes don't hold to grass. what surface are talking about here? most lining paints fade within 3 weeks...

At Carson Park in Eau Claire we use a 3M duct tape that adheres very well, and we play on a new grassy-turf synthetic field that is very similar to the Next-Turf.

You'll go through 7-8 rolls per field, but the lines are very visible and will last at least a few games until patching becomes necessary.

try a bright colored electrical tape or something like that......orange/red/yellow....that should get the job done if its on a turf like substance

Did you do the full 60 yards for the width, or did you use the football width? I would assume to be a regulation field you'd do the full 60...

Use the paint you would for a grass field, it fades within 2 1/2 weeks.

Just a couple of tips:

Make sure the attack area lines are solid, not dashed. That changed about 5 years ago.

The attack area must be 35 yds. x 40 yds. If you have to shorten the field, it comes out of the midfield area. If you have to narrow the field, it comes out of the alley.

The center line needs to continue through any midfield logos on the field so the faceoff can be done properly.

The center line must be 4 inches wide. The goal line must be 2 inches wide. All other lines are 2-4 inches wide.

We did a full 60 yds

We use a product called spray chalk, it is made by Aervoe, it was approved by the synthetic grass manufacturer to not damage the turf. It also comes in many different colors, we have been using it for 5 years, with no problems. With traffic like our heavily used fields see, it might last between 1 to three weeks.

we have figured out that the best solution is non-marking floor tape. It will last for weeks too.

for just a one day application.... duct tape works.

For our turf fields we use a bright blue duct style tape. It works really well.

we have the next turf stuff here at our school. What we use is crushed limestone. You can get large bags of it at home depot for like $3 it gives a solid line and fades away within the week.
