Intramural lacrosse
Have any schools tried to put together an intramural lacrosse league at their school? We just got an indoor roller hockey rink put in at UCSB and I was wondering how successful intramural lacrosse has been at any other schools. Are their any suggestions on how to make it work best? The league will hopefully start in a month.

I think you'd have to go with Intercrosse, or whatever it's called. It doesn't require helmets or pads, and would be much cheaper to implement (although still pretty expensive). One that they added about a year ago here at Tech that really took off was dodgeball (before the movie came out).

The sports department is willing to fully fund the intramural lax league. I was just wondering if any other schools have intramural lacrosse. It would give people who aren't as serious about the sport, and opportunity to play.

Not body checking, but stick checks are allowed. Its just like flag football, there isn't supposed to be contact, but there is anyways. I don't think there will be many problems.

Sounds a lot like women's lacrosse...
