World Record Lacrosse Game Fundraiser

Postby Hackalicious on Thu Apr 21, 2005 12:16 pm

Check this out. This fundraiser is going to set a Guiness World record by playing a 12-hour long lacrosse game:

I think there is still time to sign up if you're going to be in New England this June.

Uh... If I am not mistaken, didn't Native American Lacrosse games go on for days, or even weeks?

I didn't realize this was all settled... MetroLacrosse is the Boston Cannon's charity so they had told us about this months ago. It sounds like it's going to be a great event. What I don't get, which maybe it's explained on that website, is that they plan to play by all established lacrosse rules. How do they make the game go past the normal 48 minutes? Are they going to be told just not to shoot so that it keeps going into overtime?

Greg must be involved with some hs teams, or doing a lot of recruiting... 12 minutes in our local hs leagues.

I was involved with one of those, All Lacrosse the Ages. It was in '98 at AACC to benefit the Kevin Reinhardt foundation (hope i spelled it right). It started early in the morning, and ended late at night. The youngest players started the game, and it went through middle school, high school, college, and post college ages. I think the ages were from 4 or 5 up to 60+. It was a great experience.

My bad. I was thinking it was youth teams since that's what MetroLacrosse is. Hadn't read the NCAA part.
