Event Marketing Intern - DENVER OUTLAWS
DESCRIPTION: The Denver Outlaws lacrosse team is seeking a candidate with a strong desire to gain marketing and event experience in the sports industry. Immediate Supervisors: Chuck Olney, Director of Sales & Marketing This is a non-paid internship opportunity. Position could be full or part time. The marketing intern will be involved in day-to-day support to the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Tickets and the General Manager of the Denver Outlaws. General Statement of Duties: Help coordinate & execute all community events for the Outlaws. Duties could include setting up public appearances for players, scheduling/mapping all lacrosse activities/events in Colorado, etc. Areas of Responsibility: -Create a full lacrosse calendar of events for the Outlaws to take part in -Plan, set up and execute all community events -Update contact lists of lacrosse websites -Interface with players, staff and media Qualifications: Candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills and knowledge of the Colorado lacrosse landscape. Candidate must be a self-starter, comfortable making phone calls and meeting people and a willingness to show self-initiative. This person will be energetic, responsible and eager to gain hands-on experience. Plus: -Demonstrated knowledge of practices and principles of marketing and advertising -Experience with activities involving events a strong plus -Must be able to work weekends -Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to drive to outside events -Must be outgoing and comfortable working, playing and talking lacrosse with children/parents Candidate should have excellent organizational, verbal, written, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) To Apply: Please e-mail a cover letter and resume to: chuck.olney@DenverOutlaws.com or fax to 720-258-3050.
Communications / PR Intern
DESCRIPTION: The Denver Outlaws lacrosse team is seeking a candidate with a strong desire to gain communication and PR experience in the sports industry. Immediate Supervisors: Chuck Olney, Director of Sales & Marketing This is a non-paid internship opportunity. Position could be full or part time. The Communications / PR Intern will be involved in day-to-day support to the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Tickets and the General Manager of the Denver Outlaws. General Statement of Duties: Help execute & promote all areas of online & digital commuication for the Outlaws. Duties could include writing, posting, updating, filming and uploading fresh content to DenverOutlaws.com, MySpace.com, Outlaws email newsletters, lacrosse & news websites, etc. Areas of Responsibility: -Write stories for websites & newsletters -Develop contact lists of lacrosse and local news websites -Create fresh content (video, pictures, stories, etc) for promotional use -Assist in set-up and coordination of community events -Interface with players, staff and media Qualifications: Candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills. Candidate must be a self-starter, comfortable making phone calls and meeting people and a willingness to show self-initiative. This person will be energetic, responsible and eager to gain hands-on experience. Plus: -Demonstrated knowledge of practices and principles of PR, communication and marketing -Prior writing experience and strong computer skills a plus -Experience with activities involving events a strong plus Candidate should have excellent organizational, verbal, written, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); Quark Xpress, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro a plus.
