Arizona scores 3 times to go up 3-1 in the 1st quarter. Sloppy play from UCSB leading to 2 transition goals by AZ.

Early in the 2nd quarter, An AZ longstick scored on a fast break to make it 4-2 for Arizona.

Arizona scores again to make it 5-2 in the 2nd quarter. A number of unforced errors by UCSB are costing them possessions.

Arizona picks up a loose ball in front of the crease after a save by the UCSB goalie and buries it to go up 6-3 in the 2nd quarter.

UCSB defense has given up 6 goals in the second quarter? That is close to their season average for the entire game. Not a good sign. That usually means turnovers and unsettled goals.

It's now halftime and Arizona is ahead 7-3. UCSB looks flat and has not played well in the 1st half. Many turnovers and not many shots on goal. AZ is the much sharper team right now.

AZ scores at the beginning of the 3rd quarter as a SB defender fell leaving an AZ attack man unguarded in front of the crease with the ball.

One more AZ goal and UCSB will have given up double figures goals for the first time in the regular season since March 2002, against Arizona.

This is apparently not UCSB's day. They had a 2 man up situation and couldn't score. Then, they had a one-on-one with the goalie and were stoned. However, after that Granelli scores for UCSB to make it 9-4 in favor of Arizona.
