Looks like lil lady lax fan will be receiving updates for this game tonight, so it should be kept updated as the night progresses. Keep in mind this game begins at 6pm, not at seven like most night games, so it will cut a little bit less into bedtime for you east coasters.

Just heard from WaterBoy, he's stuck in traffic so he'll probably miss the face-off. He's going to call me once he gets there and give me an update. I'll let you know what's happening then.

It just took me about 35-40 minutes to go 4.5 miles on side streets to come home from work as I don't even dare touch the 405.

Quite a bit of cheering going on in the background during the first goal scored in this report. Chapman's definitely brought their cheering section!

This is actually a big game for both of these teams. This could have a material effect on the winner's chances for getting a possible at-large bid to the Nationals. Obviously, a lot of other things have to happen, but the winner of this game is in much better position.

We are about five minutes into the third quarter. Chapman has scored another goal. Now ahead 8-7.

Things are getting sloppy. Refs are letting a lot go by, some slashing going on. Flags in the air. Looks like Poly is going man-down.

Here's the sitch:

Went to the face-off, ball got stuck in the pocket of a Poly players stick. End result: 3 min. nonreleasable for illegal equipment. Then Poly's bench went haywire, drawing another flag. They are now 2 men down with a second penalty--1 min USC. Poly's goalie had a brilliant save, passing the ball off. The Poly men levelled the Chapman goalie.

Poly #21 just scored one from the crease while still one man down. 8-8

Doesn't sound like the defenses made the trip to this game.
