So will one of you guys who saw this upset, provide some information about how or why it occured. Please some critical evaluation for the rest of us....
First of all, congratulations to Chapman for a very strong win. What an incredible game to watch. 16-15 final, and the tension level was very high on every posession.
This was the best game (in terms of skill level) that I have seen in the MCLA. I will definitely have some color...but I've been up for 20+ hours and need to get some sleep. Here are my top 3-4 points, at least as it relates to Chapman.
-Chapman is for real. You could tell that in the middle of the first quarter. Farinelli in particular was very good. I heard he was a little sick. If that's the case, I wonder what he plays like when he's feeling well. Does he ping corners on the dead run from 15 yards out instead of the 12 he was hitting from tonight? I don't mean to imply, by the way, that he's a one man show there. They had a group of very strong shooters, and excellent finishers.
-Chapman shared the ball on offense. I don't have the stats in front of me, but they seemingly had a high percentage of assisted goals.
-Chapman's long poles can handle. That was key vs. BYU's ride.
-Chapman's FOGO was the difference in the game. He had every move in the book and used them all successfully.
I'll try to chime in with more tomorrow or Monday when I get home.
