TOUGH news. Best of luck in your recovery Chris.

Congrats to the LaxCats for a tough win on the road.

Can anyone explain how this ACL tear happened? Very unfortunate injury.

They have been there every year. I can't remember what the first year was, but I believe it was 97 or 98.

It is true that BYU did not play well tonight, however they have 3 losses so far. How exactly does that translate into missing the tournament? You assume a lot if you say that they will lose the rest of their games.

Right now, no one is out of the tournament. It's just too early to make that call. However, BYU is in a precarious position, in my opinion. It's not about how many losses they have, it's who they've lost to. Losing to #3 UCSB is no problem, but the losses to #15 Arizona & #17 are damaging. It has to result in a drop in the polls. How far it will be, no one knows at this point. You would have to surmise that it will be near #10, if not below.

All that being said, there is still plenty of time for BYU to turn this around. They need a couple of quality wins under their belt. At this point, I don't think they can afford another loss to a team ranked below them, but that's just my opinion.

He cleared the ball on his own, and was checked very hard near the Arizona restraining line. A few minutes later, he had the ball beginning another clear and tried to maneuver around an opposing player. He just went down, dropping the ball, and grabbing his knee. On the replay, it looked as though his whole leg just gave out.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I think the loss to Poly could be the most damaging, but I think Arizona is better than #15...so this won't be as bad. I don't think that BYU will have a chance to lose to teams ranked below them because they will probably drop out of the top 10 for the first time ever. That said, I believe a win vs. CU, CSU or SSU will probably get them a trip to TX.

From watching the replay- and obviously I could be totally wrong on this one- it looked as though when he went down back behind the cage, his knee was in a position as though it was torqued to the side. From one angle it just looked as though he fell over and his leg gave out. From the angle from the Arizona goal, looking head on at him you could tell that his leg just wasn't straight, with a lot of gravitational push from the outside of (I think his right) knee inward.

After a night to sleep on it...

How in the world does the stats page only show 10 turnovers for BYU?? I would have guessed it would be 2-3 times that many.

Agree with DG, wins over CSU, CU and Noma would help, but now there's added pressure to games like UF and Ga Tech. BYU certainly can't afford another loss to a team outside the top 5.

Wins over CU, CSU, and Sonoma would help, but instead of being excited for those games, don't you think BYU players will be terrified with what's at stake. They've never been in this situation before.

Teams take their lead from coaches. Jason L is too good a coach to have "fear" - and, (long island bias about to show up) - he's from Strong ISLAND, which means he doesn't know the meaning of the word. In fact, this is a great motivational opportunity for Jason and the coaching staff. Everyone will now "Count them out" especially because he lost at least one starter. This will unify them. IF that type of "you don't have a chance" doesn't motivate young men of character (sp) to prepare and play even stronger - nothing will. I think BYU will get it together.

byulacrosse.com wrote:Regardless of your viewing options, it is highly recommended that you download QuantumMedia Player from Move Networks. Using QuantumMedia Player for BYU-TV,
you can use the "On Demand" feature to view the game up to 14 days after the intitial live broadcast. Rewind, Fast-Forward, 10-Second Rewind and many other great features are available.

I would go to byulacrosse.com to find out more about this feature. I am not sure how it works.

Thanks Pete! I went to their website, downloaded the Quantum player, but now can't find the tape of the game. It says it should be avaiable for 14 days after the game. Anyone have suggestions?

I just did it. you have to go to byu.tv then you need to click on the 'On Demand' button on the right hand side. Then go to Friday 3/3 and click on the 6pm time (it says education week, but it is the game) and there you have it. If you need more info, just let me know.

Ah, it must have been the Education Week label that threw me off.
Looking forward to watching the game!
