Michigan scored their first goal, a bounce shot to top left. The followed it up with another one by John Keenum(?).

UCSD's Chris McCall followed it up with a short stick goal of their own.

It is now thire quarter, 12 min. left. Michigan has scored two goals on a man-up situation-unreleasable penalty. Now 8-5.

Correction to earlier report. UCSD's Nick Dean scored the goal with 30 seconds left.

Summary of first quarter: Started out slow. Not a lot of drive or action. Michigan has taken control since the rain started falling. Michigan's keeper is doing an incredible job. Many great saves. Most of the defensive moves have been his saves, not takeaways.

UCSD's McCall scored one nine minutes in. UCSD's first offensive posession of the quarter.

Score now 8-6 Michigan's favor.
