Sonny: I realize that you probably wish to have formal team names for some items but some of those names do not make sense when they show up on the schedule and scoreboard on the home page for this site. This is especially true of some of the UC and CSU schools in California.

Because the schedule and scoreboard listings truncate the full name of many schools the following rather odd names appear:

'California, Santa Barbara' (should be 'UC Santa Barbara')
'California, Irvine' (should be 'UC Irvine')
'California, Davis' (should be 'UC Davis')
'California, Berkeley' ((should be 'California' or 'UC Berkeley")
'California State University' should be 'Chico State' (there are actually 23 different schools with the name "California State University"!) (if CSU Hayward were still in the WCLL, both they and Chico State would appear as "California State University.")

Would it be possible for these names to be shortened for scoreboard and schedule purposes so that the names would be more recognizable?

We have updated some of the school names for the scoreboard:
Chico State, CSU-Pueblo, Boston University, St. Louis University.

We are working on the renaming some of the U of California schools next.

UC schools should all be modified now on the scoreboard:
UC-Santa Barbara
UC-Irvine
UC-San Diego
etc.

I know that you guys like to list your schools with commas out there in Cali, but commas don't work in our UNIX database.
