The man known as "Ruben Bealleau" showed up last weekend to referee a youth lacrosse tournament game at Smith High School.

But organizers learned Saturday the man's name wasn't Ruben Bealleau — and he may not even be a credentialed referee.

Authorities arrested Ronnie Steve Clemons, 37, on one count of obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen property. Warrants listed his address as 1210 Latham Park in Greensboro. That address, however, does not appear in city directories.

Clemons could not be reached Monday for comment.

Sheriff's deputies allege Clemons used the alias to receive pay from the Triad Youth Lacrosse Association at the tournament. Clemons has since been linked to Guilford County high school events, where investigators believes he has officiated football and possibly lacrosse games over the past year.
