Can you call a stick check in overtime? How about after a game winning OT goal? Would it be a good idea at the beginning of OT to inform the ref that you would like to have the opponent's stick checked in the event they score before you do?

You can ask for a stick (equipment) check in OT. But NOT after the game ending (winning) goal. Once that goal is scored, the game is over.

This is not entirely true. They can ask all they want. They'll just have to strain to hear me yell "No!" while I'm jogging to my car!

I know that officials are encouraged to leave the field immediately to avoid conflict with coaches, but isn't it also the responsibility of the official to sign the score book?

I don't think our official score book got signed even once last year.

Officials can sign the book before or during the game. I think they are suppose to only sign the book as a courtesy.

The last thing you want is the game officials to return to the bench area (between both teams) after a game-winning, overtime goal. (Only bad things can happen there.)

Yeah I yelled at two refs last year after the game because they got to close. Horrible officiating, missed an offsides call even though I was yelling for it that cost me the game winning goal. The ref's answer - I counted your team.

Sorry, I'm still upset.

Not all of my officials were aweful. My first game coaching last season I had two good refs.... I wonder who one of them was....
