I hyperextended my elbow and have this brace on my left arm. The brace is made of metal and also has a hinge with a plastic cover in the middle. Is is legal for a player to play in a game with this arm brace on? Does it have to be covered up? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I personally wouldnt let a player play with this particular brace and judging from the brace itself, if you were the one wearing it, I would think you must have rocks for brains if you wanted to play with an injury that required a brace of this magnitude!!

The brace seems a bit overkill to me. The doctor said I have to wear the brace for 6 weeks and then play with the brace on for 3 months after that. I only wear it during the day and have worn it for 6 weeks now. My elbow feels pretty good and is almost healed. I started playing 2 weeks ago and I get my elbow taped by a trainer every day. I'd say I'm doing well without the brace and I feel comfortable without it too.

Well, with the exception of the national tourney, the season is over so hopefully that will give you ample time to heal before next year. You are young still, so just take it easy, heal up, and give everyone heck on the field next year! :D
