Officials Timer

My imfamous little black box broke. Whenever I flip the switch the timer just goes off automatically. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It creates some bad situations when you are officiating a game and this happens. The worst part is when you need it for other games and you only have 1, because the only place to find them is on line. I am just shocked that I am about to pay $42 for this little thing.

Also these things can get you in to a lot of trouble on an airplane. When asked about it never say, "Oh, well when I flip this switch it will go off after 20 seconds!" The security people don't like that.

maybe you should keep it around it teams are asking for a fast restart or you have a hot date after the game.

I have never had any trouble taking my 20 second timer AKA the little black box on a plane. I think it was actually only looked at very briefly the first time I flew after 9/11 and on the advice of a fellow official, I had my rule book right next to it to be able to point out to airport security what it was and what it is used for. I suggest having a very small compactable screwdriver with you to be able to take the back off if necessary as well as your rule book and a product catalogue showing the timer doesn't hurt either.
