Play on situaton

Team A is man-up, near the end of the quarter.

Ball becomes loose and then B1 pushes A1. Play on is indicated. Horn blows to end the quarter.

Ruling on how you restart the next quarter? :)

Play on indicates possession - right? then Team A would start the period with the ball at the center X

Only because we're in a man-up situation and A1 ends the period with (virtual) possession, Team A starts the next period with possession (no face-off). Play will start at the same relative spot on the field or outside the attack area, not at midfield.
