Stick Measurements

Postby Billy White Shoes on Tue Mar 08, 2005 8:11 pm

I'm about to pinch and cut down a shortstick. What are the minimum measurements? 40'' and 6.5"? Or is it 7''? Thanks

Measurements are 40" to 42" and 52" to 72". Minimum 6.5" at it's widest point, measured at the top and bottom of the stick, and minimum of 10" from the top to the ball stop.
Be careful not to pinch it too much! Those baked sticks are a favorite of mine for stick checks, especially the ones that look like a box stick!

Being a player and a ref, I would say that you should only pinch it down to right over 6 1/2". Normal game play should make the stick fluxuate into that nicely tight but still legal measurement. Also remember when the stick is rolled forward from a 90 degree angle the ball must be able to drop out of the stick. Sometimes the stringing can cause the ball to cacth near the ball stop and that is a penalty.
