Make no mistake, when both the NFL and Major League Baseball playoffs are tainted by a rash of indefensible calls, the sports world is suffering an officiating crisis.

So why are sports fans being asked to live with bad calls that are costing their teams championships? Surely, something can be done.

Though I'm not above complaining without offering solutions, here are 10 suggestions for leading us all — refs, coaches, fans, commissioners — out of this sad situation.

The officials in the Superbowl obviously were unable to distinguish calls that are made during the regular season from calls you make or do not make in a championship game! Daryl Jackson's little push off in the end zone for example; make the call during the regular season, but in a championship game, that is a no call! Matt Hasselbeck's low block; that isn't a call at any point any time unless the NFL has now outlawed tackling! While no official is perfect, I do expect more from NFL officials in the championship Superbowl game! Just my 2 cents worth.
