Stripped Screw - Need Help

Now that all of you have your head in the gutter...

It appears that the screw in one of my sticks has been stripped and I need to get it out. I have tried putting something underneath it and raise it out while unscrewing as well as other ideas.

If this has happened to you and you have a good idea please help me out.

USE A SMALLER DRILL BIT AND DRILL IT OUT. IF IT IS A DPOLE, JUST CUT A FEW INCHES OFF.

If it's stripped, I'll assume a soft screw... grabbing it with pliers works often. You could also shave/break the screw-head off & then twist it through if push comes to shove... Maybe even take it to a hardware store & get some help. By the part they say will do it, then do it there....

If yiou can't grab the screw with pliers, try to lift up on it with a screwdriver while using another to unsrew it. You can then turn the stick over and drill a new hole in the opposite side. (That way you can srew the front and back holes).

If it is a recent Warrior head they have that flat oval opening opposite of where the screw is in the front and you could strategically drill a pilot hole on that side (for later use as well) and if you've calculated correctly you could then push the tip of the stripped screw as you reverse the screwdriver. Theoretically this saves you from damaging the plastic around the screw hole and you can use the new hole when you rotate your tires . . . shaft every 6-8 months. Who says your shaft logos have to be upright, I've got shafts with screw holes in 4 places. Damn the manufactures for not standardizing the screw locations.

Another common problem while attaching heads is having drilled a pilot hole too big or trying to fill the hole of a larger screw with a smaller screw, all leading to the screw not staying tight and having to constantly tighten it. What I like to do in this situation is pre-wrap the screw with athletic tape, this goo and filler will help fill the void.

For all of those who are losing sleep over my dilemma I am unhappy to state that my head is now destroyed. While I was attempting to drill through the screw the drill bit slipt (I was drilling into the side of it to get started since the screw was just spinning) and drilled a nice sized gap into the plastic. I then proceeded to drill through the plastic on some of the sides and just pulled two pieces apart and got my shaft back.

To give the story a better conclusion than this - I added one of my player's Blades to the shaft to give me a nice selection of "Current-Player-Beating-Sticks" for the Harding alumni game this weekend. Coach Hood has seen some of the other selections. I can assure you that they are all perfectly legal .
