In the last year, Nike has designed jerseys and footwear specifically for lacrosse for the first time. Adidas and Reebok will be introducing a line of lacrosse equipment in the fall that will include lacrosse-specific items like stick shafts, shoulder pads and gloves. (All three companies began investing more in the sport before the Duke case.)

The back cover the program at the NSS was a full-page ad for Adidas lacrosse gear. Said heads, handles, protective equipment, apparel and footwear was coming in the fall of 2007.

wow i dont think "mid-set" as opposed to "off-set" is gonna get them around paying patent royalties to Brine.

Have any MCLA programs been contacted about using the new gear? I am willing to bet BYU has. On their latest podcast(available on BYULACROSSE.Com), Jason and Tom say that there will be a big anouncement forthcoming on a new gear sponsorship. Aren't their unis affiliated with reebok? And another thing, Tom, it says find our podcast on Itunes, but I can't find it. Whats the deal?

I thought BYU's uniforms were New Balance? I could be wrong on this though.

Yeah, looks like New Balance(Warrior/Brine) uniforms, Riddell helmets, and STX gloves and armpads. I don't know if they have a cleat deal, but the major of their pictures have guys in nike cleats.

On the topic of Reebok and Adidas, Adidas owns Reebok, so I wonder how they're going to separate the two brands. Most of the gear looks like any other generic lax gear - nothing really jumped out at me as something I had to have.

I know that reebok has already infiltrated the NLL, so maybe Reebok will make gear more oriented to box lacrosse while adidas will take field lacrosse?

It also looks a lot like the H2 from Harrow, with the "cant" about midway down the length of the head.

yeah, byu has (or at least had) a pseudo-deal with the school (who is sponsored by nike) to get certain things. i'm not totally sure, but i think they get cleats now. it used to be just stuff like weird spandex stockings and things that the football team didn't want.

Is this information you got from a friend (one of those BYU players), or did you look it up on the internet? Try asking a credible source, ie Coach Lamb.
