anyone tried out the STX shogun D arm pad? if so, do they break in well? i had some STX arm pads back in high school and they never broke in well and pinched like crazy, so i switched to brine ever since. but i like these shoguns. any feedback?

I don't like em.

I gave mine away after a few uncomfortable weeks with the Shogun, switching to some very minimal, but quite comfortable Gait slip-on elbow pads.

I just ordered the new Maverick arm guards and get them tuesday, I'll let you know what I think.

Haven't heard too much good about the shogun series from STX. The K18 stuff is pretty nice.

yeah i like those too but from what i've seen they look big. i'm looking for minimal. I ordered those brine supercrosse elbow pads and used them for a few games but without the neoprene, they are a little too minimal, and with the neoprene they just feel awkward.
correct me if i'm wrong, though, about the k18.

These really aren't that big.

I think BYU is wearing the new K18 line, or at least thats what it looked like last night on tv. These pads did not look that big.

What do you think of the Maverick pads?

I just got the warrior sliver and I love them! No extra padding, very light weight and they protect where I need them to. I would definitely recommend to anyone especially middies.

Their not bad at all. They are pretty tight, even if you order the large. They do take some time to stretch out and get up your arm into place. They aren't that bulky and still have some pretty good protection. Overall I'm decently pleased.

just to refresh this thread a bit...

any feedback on the Brine LoPro arm guards? the design looks like they are very flexible and wouldn't need much breaking in. again my main concern would be length.

oh yeah, and i still haven't seen the k18s in person. surprisingly, not one person in the summer/fall leagues i've been playing in have them.

We just got our K18 AP and AG's in late last week. Most of the guys are pretty pleased with them. They offer some pretty good protection and seem to be really flexible.
