Is the CPX Ti worth the money because i was thinking of getting one for high school. Any bad features? Good features?

MSU uses cpx chromium. They are no less strong, and are only slightly lighter, but are significantly cheaper.

I'd say the titanium is just a marketing ploy.

No! Get outta here! Just an excuse to tack another $50+ bucks onto the already high cost of a lid? They would never do that...

I think alot of it depends on your position as well. For example, I'm a goalie and I've used a regular CPX for the past two years. Even though the fastest shots I see are probably around 75mph at best, I've still taken enough hits to the facemask that it's getting a little bent out of shape. So if you're playing a position like that, a titanium might be a good idea. Otherwise, I'd say a chromanium(spelling?) or regular CPX would be perfectly fine.

ive been playing with the Cpx Chromanium for 3 years now. Ive tried my buddies titamium grilled one and saw no advantage its jsut a little bit heavier in my oppinion . Ive seen a goalie on my old team take a mid-nineties shot to the facemask with no dammage to the chromanium. I dont see an advantage with the titanium. The only diference i see is a duller grey mask, and titanium written on the chin piece. I dont think its worth the extra 50, id use that extra cash and get another head or something.

There's really no difference between the titanium and chromamium. I'd like to some day do a study on the density of the titanium facemask and even find out how much titanium is in the facemask.

BTW, if your team buys them, you should be only paying $155.00 per titanium helmet. And thats with like maybe 5-10 helmets.

I would like to see Cascade produce a matte black facemask for their product line. My brother-in-law is a goalie and I ordered him a matching CWU-team helmet- we use the chromanium masks on our CPX's. He got fed-up with the reflected sunlight in his eyes from the shiny mask so he rattle-canned it matte black. He no longer has this problem. Our team goalie a couple of years back had the same complaint. He wrapped black stick tape around the bars of the mask that were giving him the problems. The tape method didn't look nearly as cool as the matte black finish.
