New Balance/Warrior buy Brine

I recently wasted some time on the e-lacrosse website and found out some rather interesting news about competition between lax companies. It seems as though there may be somwhat of a "Wal-Mart" effect taking place in the world of lacrosse mechandising and product development.
All of you ecology majors will recognize this as competition over limited resources. Will the dominant species "out-spend" its competition? Is this good for lacrosse??
