Anyone know anything about these two besides the E3 being a super pinched edge? I heard the Answer is a little bit flimsier, but how do the two match up in comparison? Which is more pinched? Stronger? Which string job fits the best?

All my old school edges are super pinched and I have played with the matrix as well, I'm just trying to get a feel for the new line by Brine.

I have the same question. My last Matrix has a small crack beginning, and I want something similar (hopefully as pinched factory).

I've messed around with the E3 and its an absolutly incredible head. The design is just like the original edge except its got a factory pinch. When I strung it it seems like it holds a mid to low pocket a lot better. I strung it up with hard mesh and put three shooting strings going horizontal on the top with a pretty low pocket. Seems to work great.

Haven't played with the 'Answer' so can't help you out there.

The E3 is also really thick, like it would be hard to break. Strength was definately in mind when they redid it.

I've strung up and used both heads, and while they are both rad, I would give my endorsement to The Answer. It has decent enough hold, but it is SOOO quick on the release compared to the E3. Its also noticeably lighter. The E3 has incredible hold, but the full offset makes the release slow compared to the answer's. It seems like it takes forever for that ball to release from the pocket. I strung up the same pocket-6 diamond mesh with two shooters in both, but like I said before, The Answer is just money.

But i know what you mean about the Matrix, I loved the head but broke every one I owned. Not only that, but I had to replace sidewall strings every couple weeks since they would wear against the sidewall were the ball hits them. Matrix was a great head, so needless to say I went straight after the E3, which is a worthy successor.

The remedy I used for this was stringing my sidewalls with thin climbing string I purchased at REI. Not only that, but I reinforced it with super glue(just "soak" the string in some super glue after you string the pocket). After that, I didn't have any problems with sidewall strings snapping or breaking. Call it weird, but I'm an engineer...

Thanks for all the advice...I think I'm going with the E3. I like a late release on my shot.
