Here's my take on some of the new heads I've seen, most of which you guys already know about. Most of the new heads won't be available for another month, but I have gotten to see them firsthand since I work at Rock-it Pocket.
Warrior:
Helix - The "twisted" sidewalls and the rest of the shape almost make it look like they took every single patent and combined it on one head. One solid advantage to this head over the Evo and Revo Pro series because the throat opens up a lot and I don't think the ball will get stuck down there a la Bill McGlone for Maryland last year (or the year before??). My guess is that this will be a big seller and very popular.
2.0 Series - Word is that the molds wore out on all the old designs and that is why they came out with this series. The new 2.0's will be the Razer 2.0, Evo and Revo 2.0 and Razer Pro 2.0. Not sure why they are redoing the Razer Pro already, but it looks pretty similar. Just from looking at them and messing around with them, the 2.0's appear to be a little stronger than the old ones.
Mojo - This is basically a "2.0" version of the Finalizer. It will be much cheaper than other new heads.
Brine:
Clutch - Same as Warrior's Helix, the Clutch seems like an amalgamation (big word of the day) of all Brine's other heads. It resembles both the Answer and the E3. Looks decent, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
Voyce - Looks basically the same as the Swerve. Same idea and shape, really. The one thing about this head is that it will be offered in two-color combinations (to the chagrin of retailers) and will be the first head to have two different colors as part of the design. Looks decent if you like the Swerve, but probably breaks just as easily.
Eraser - The first new goalie head in a while, it was designed by Tillman Johnson. I didn't actually see this firsthand, but it looks pretty decent in the catalog. It doesn't have the flared sidewalls of the Nemesis, but the rest of the shape is similar.
STX:
K18 - STX is staking a lot of its future on this head and the whole Crankshaft idea. We at Rock-it Pocket have decided against carrying these heads, mostly because we don't like the idea that you have to purchase a particular handle just to use a head. However, I did mess around with the X3 on a Crankshaft and there is nothing wrong with it. Just a way around the patent technology they were struggling with.
I haven't seen the DeBeer stuff yet. Our rep should be here soon, but I think Gait/deBeer would be hard pressed to do much better than the Torque. Last year's heads didn't measure up as well.
Hope that helps you guys. We always have pretty full reviews of heads at http://www.rock-itpocket.com and once we have the heads, we will have new reviews and as many photos as we can.

I bought a Serpent shaft and I need to put a new hole for my head. The guys at Serpent said just to tap a hole and just start screwing the screw in. I was just if that won't crack the shaft, or should I drill a hole?? Any help would be appreciated.

I think he means "tap" as in drill a very small hole first (machine shop terminology), then screw in the screw. At least that's what I do. It keeps splitting from happening...and it keep you from denting/bending the shaft at the end.

What is warrior thinking naming their new heads "penitrator" and "snatch"? Are the parents of youth players really ready to shop for lax gear when their kid asks for a snatch for Christmas? Not a good move marketing with innuendo considering the Duke issue in the lacrosse world.

I dont agree with what warrior is doing...but maybe (form an advertising standpoint) they're doing it for more of a "shock" value...to get people to remember their stuff. Who knows...maybe if Warrior would lower it's prices on gear they wouldnt have to have such ridiculous advertising methods. Even the tv commercials suck.

Nothing is worse than selling the new Warrior jocks to parents when they come into the store for a full gear set-up. The "Nutt Hutt" is barely even innuendo.

Just got information about the new cascade helmet. The helmet will have the visor and body of the helmet combined. Therefore, no more colored visors or the ability to switch them out.
The padding on the inside has changed too supposedly.

Rob/Matt,
After a couple weeks of practice/games, how have the Serpent shafts held up?

I just got the new Gait Fuel and Warrior Helix.
The Fuel is exactly like the Evo Pro but just not as pinched. Think about the pinch being between the original Evolution and the Evo Pro. It throws very easily and has a nice quick release. It is somewhat flexible. Definetly an Attack or O Middie head.
The Helix is really interesting. The front sidewall is more pinched than the back rails. The bottom of the back rail does open up so that the ball cannot become stuck in it. I have only thrown with it for one day but the release is nice and easy (think Razor). The middle of the head is flexible if pinching it together. However the overall integrity of the head is fairly stiff, meaning that it does not go side to side very easily.

I just bought a Brine Clutch. The stringing holes are fantastic and the head is super-stiff, with a shape very similar to the Razer Pro. I have mesh in there that's so hard it will not move...but ima put some softer canadian mesh in there and see what happens.
Still loving my Evo Pro, tho.

I just got the Clutch as well. I've been thinking about getting one for a while, I had heard nothing but good things about it.
The head seems fairly stiff and so far I've found scooping to be pretty easy with it. I have yet to scoop on grass or turf though. I'm a defenseman, and I think if it goes well the next couple weeks I might make the switch from the Motive to the Clutch as my primary head. We'll see if it breaks. I like the pinch a little better then the Motive.
I will add, stringing it was a piece of cake. The holes are really nice.

I have a motive on my other pole...the clutch is great for scooping on turf..I would go as far to say better than the motive.

Just wanted to throw my two cents out there... the Maverik Dynasty arm guards are money. I love their shafts as well. Word is they're working on a head to come out sometime this summer or possibly hold off for the '08 season.
