Ultimate Random Lacrosse Question

Postby cjwilhelmi on Mon Aug 28, 2006 9:22 pm

I have looked through google searches, wikipedia and all kinds of other sites and cannot find the answer to this question.

"how thick are sidewall/top strings?"

I originally started looking through jimalax.com then realized that its just a round shoelace but still can't come up with anything.

Does anyone know or have something that can measure that small?

Well I ran down to the basement with my spool and whipped out the micrometer. I found it to be about 0.157 in +/- 0.001 in. Then when I walked past my dad, he informed me that ropes are commonly measured in mm. So with a quick conversion, I found it to be almost exactly 4mm (3.98mm). If you like, I could also find the diameter of pocket nylon.

Girlfriend?! I wish I had one of those around. By the way, it goes all the way up to 10 inches. The micrometer that is... :D

My dad is an engineer who has done several side businesses, a few of which have needed one im sure. That and just incase anyone needs me to measure anything.
