Brine Triads

Postby byualum on Tue Feb 28, 2006 11:32 am

So, originally I thought these helmets were the most horrific things I'd ever seen, then last night, watching the Army/Syracuse game, I realized I actually liked the black/gold Army helmets.

Is it possible these things aren't the ugliest creation in the history of lacrosse equipment? Are any MDIA teams wearing these? Please, someone set me straight.

I don't know... Even the Black/Gold is still pretty hideous...

They're ugly...so is the Gait, but they're uglier than the Gait.

I think the majority of the Utah team is wearing them.

I hate the triads when they are light colors - they look huge. The Black did look "acceptable to good" in my opinion.

Syracuse's new helment scheme looked really good. And - most importantly, their play was really quite impressive for a young team.

Agreed. Once Yevoli and the freshmen get used to playing with each other they will be very fun to watch. Not sure they have the defense to win it all, but their offense will be very good.

John Walker is really good.

Walker should be a Tewaaraton Favorite.

If Panarelli stops trying to take the ball away constantly (as he tried last year) that will help them... But they were "thinking" too much v. Army, not playing within the concept, thus slides were not together.

And I'm not sure about the cuse goalie, 3 straight shots off-side high suggests a weakness.

Last night was the first time I've ever seen Walker play. Very, very good. But I think anyone will be hard pressed to beat Danowski for the Tewaartaton if does anything similar to last year. Rabil and Sean Morris may come close, but I think it's Danowski's award to lose.

I don't disagree that Danowski is THE favorite. I just think that Walker should be A favorite. Danowski has significanlty superior talent around him. Teams cannot scheme to stop him at the expense of others. The opposite is true with Walker. If Walker doesn't score, his team has no chance. And everyone knows it. And still he does what he does.

I'd be happy with either one being the winner.

Riddell, still, is by far the ugliest helmet on the market.

I think that cascade is obviously #1, followed by viking and the triad at a close third.
