PORTLAND, November 25, 2007 - The Portland LumberJax have re-signed future hall-of-fame goalie Dallas Eliuk to a one-year agreement, as was announced today by Head Coach/General Manager Derek Keenan.

In his storied 17-year career, Eliuk has won four championships (1994, 1995, 1998 and 2001), nine All-Pro awards and two championship Most Valuable Player awards. The National Lacrosse League's all-time saves leader (6,201) and career leader in gamed played (197); the British Columbia native is the only franchise player in team history.

The six-time All-Star enters the 2008 season with a career Goals-Against-Average of 12.23 and a career saves percentage of 76.28%. He joined the Jax on December 12, 2005 in a trade with the Philadelphia Wings after spending 15 seasons in Philadelphia.

Widely considered the greatest goalie in indoor lacrosse history, Eliuk has 16 games of 30 saves or more in two seasons with the Jax. In 2007, Eliuk completed his ninth season with at least 400 saves.

"Dallas is still a premier goalie in the NLL," said Keenan. "He continues to amaze me with his level of fitness and commitment to the game and to Portland. We look for Dallas to provide mentorship for our young goalies while still contributing on the floor."
