DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth continued its dominance of the Edmonton Rush on Saturday night, recording a 16-7 victory in front of 17,804 fans at Pepsi Center. The Mammoth, which won 16-9 in Edmonton on Jan. 19, remained unbeaten in four games all-time against the Rush.

Edmonton-area natives Jamie Shewchuk, Jordan Cornfield and Ben Prepchuk combined for six goals and three assists for the Mammoth, while Josh Sims and Gavin Prout each added three goals. The Mammoth improved to 6-1 on the season � the best start in the team's five-season history � and retained the National Lacrosse League's best record. The Mammoth is now 4-0 at home this season and 28-8 all-time. The Rush fell to 1-3 on the year.

"We're playing as a team right now and that is helping us to be successful," Mammoth coach Gary Gait said. "I was impressed with our defensive effort tonight and Gee Nash continues to play very well."

Nash, the Mammoth's goaltender, made 40 saves and remained unbeaten in five decisions this season. Mammoth forwards Dan Carey added two goals, while Brian Langtry and Nick Carlson each scored once. Chris McElroy led the Rush with two goals. Pat Campbell took the loss in goal for Edmonton after making 27 saves. He allowed 12 goals and was replaced in the third quarter by Kurtis Wagar, who allowed four goals and stopped 15 shots.

The Mammoth took a 9-5 lead into halftime after goals by Shewchuk, Cornfield and Carlson. Sims opened the scoring with two consecutive goals before Prout made it 3-0 with his first of the game. Prout scored twice more in the first quarter to give the Mammoth a 5-3 lead after 15 minutes.
