Sting announce "Guaranteed Win Night"

Glendale, AZ - The Arizona Sting announced today that their opening match against the Colorado Mammoth on Friday, January 5, at Jobing.com Arena has been designated “Guaranteed Win Night”. If the Sting lose the game, all fans in attendance will receive a complementary ticket to Arizona’s February 18 game against the Edmonton Rush. In addition, the first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Sting Sandstorm t-shirt courtesy of Jobing.com. Game time is 7:30 P.M.
Arizona finished the 2007 NLL pre-season with a perfect record of 2-0 after defeating the Mammoth by a score of 16-9 on December 16 at the E-Center in West Valley City, Utah. Colorado defeated Arizona in the West Division Final last season by a score of 13-12 at the Pepsi Center in Denver on April 29, 2006. The Mammoth went on to win the 2006 NLL Champion’s Cup by virtue of their 16-9 win over the Buffalo Bandits on May 13.
The Sting have played nine regular season games against the Mammoth in team history; they currently possess a head-to-head record of 3-6 with 120 goals scored and 128 allowed. The Sting’s first playoff victory came against Colorado on April 22, 2005, when they registered a 16-13 home floor win.
On February 3, 2006, Sting forward Craig Conn set a team record for goals in a game when he found the back of the net eight times against Colorado. That same game, Mammoth forward Gavin Prout set a record for most points tallied against the Sting in a single game when he recorded 10 points (3G-7A) in an 18-17 overtime victory.
