GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Arizona Sting Head Coach and General Manager Bob Hamley announced Wednesday the signing of defenseman Greg Hinman to a one-year contract, pending league approval. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Greg is a very hard working young man and we're happy to be bringing him back to the Sting," said Hamley. "He really impressed us last season with his speed, grit, and determination, and we're looking forward to having him play a bigger role on our defense in 2007."

As a rookie in 2006, Hinman registered 1G-10A-11P in 13 games played with the Sting. The 23-year old also scooped up 59 loose balls on the season and logged 18 PIM. A standout defender with the Western Lacrosse Association's New Westminster Salmonbellies, Hinman has registered 15G-47A-62P-82PIM in 33 GP over the past two summers in British Columbia. Arizona originally signed the 6'0", 195 lb. native of Coquitlam, BC as a free agent on October 3, 2005.
