The National Lacrosse League and ESPN2 have announced the network will televise the league's 2006 Championship Game live on Saturday, May 13 at 6PM Eastern/3PM Pacific.

The 2006 regular season, the league's 20th season of professional indoor lacrosse, concludes on April 15th. Eight of the league's 11 teams will advance to the playoffs, which are all single-game elimination. The playoffs will begin with the four Division Semifinal games on the weekend of April 21-23. The winners of those games will advance to the Division Championships on the weekend of April 28-30. The winners of the Division Championship games advance to the NLL Championship Game on May 13, as the East champion faces the West champion for the title.

The 2005 Championship Game saw the Toronto Rock defeat the Arizona Sting 19-13 in front of a sold-out crowd of 19,432 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

"We're pleased to have ESPN2 televise our championship game to a live national audience", said NLL Commissioner Jim Jennings. "ESPN2 will allow us to reach our current US fan base as well as mainstream sports fans who are finding the excitement of professional indoor lacrosse."

"The National Lacrosse League Championship on ESPN2 will showcase the excitement of this sport on its grandest stage," said Rosalyn Durant, ESPN Senior Director of Programming and Acquisitions. "We are thrilled to televise an elite event that will crown the next NLL Champion."

Championship game broadcast plans for Canada will be announced at a later date.

Colorado and Buffalo are about to face-off. This will give those of us who aren't in Plano something to do before the CSU/CU game.

Geez, the Buffalo players are a bunch of punks!!!!! They play dirty and keep hitting the Mammoth players in the head! I guess Buffalo doesnt believe they are good enough to win on the merit of their own skills!!!

Start or 4th 11 - 7 Mammoth up

That's no lie. It's a shame to see people playing dirty like that. I'm all for being agressive, but not to the point where you're hitting people in the head and blatantly cross-checking people in the back.
