Offensive Night For Jax With Several Repeat Scorers

The LumberJax had a big win tonight in Philadelphia 15-12. Three LumberJax players scored three times each; Ted Dowling, Ryan Sharp, and Mike Hominuck. The score was close throughout the game, but the Jax stayed in the lead for a majority of the game. Dallas Eliuk also contributed to the win against his former team with 34 saves only allowing the Wings 12 goals.

The first half saw Wings’ forward Jake Bergey contribute three goals, two of his fellow All-Star teammates scored as well (Glenn Clark and Dan Marohl). The Wings kept the score close at the end of the half only trailing by one, 8-7. Hominuck scored all three of his goals in the first half, with assists from Brodie Merrill on two of those goals. Also in the first half, the newest Jax player Ryder Bateman scored his first goal with the team.

The win was a collective effort by the Jax team with eight players scoring during the game. All-Star starter Merrill came up with 18 loose balls, two goals, and five assists. Wings’ Jeff Ratcliffe had three goals in the second half and one assist. The high scorer for the Wings was Bergey with four goals, and he will be playing in the All-Star game next week. This win brings the Jax record to 3-3 for the season as they return home for their next game against Buffalo on March 4 in the Rose Garden.

The All-Star Game in Toronto will air live locally next Saturday, February 25 at 1p on CNW TV14. The Jax play their next game at home on Saturday, March 4 at 1p and will be broadcast on KCMD 970AM.
