All-Star Game Starters Announced

The National Lacrosse League has announced the starting lineups for its 2006 All-Star Game, which will be played at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Saturday, February 25th at 4pm Eastern. The East and West Division starting lineups were determined by the combined votes of the league’s general managers, league media, and fans, who voted online at the league’s official website, www.nll.com. The votes of each of the three groups weighed equally in determining the starting lineups.

EAST DIVISION
Forwards
John Grant - Rochester Knighthawks
Colin Doyle -Toronto Rock
John Tavares - Buffalo Bandits

Defensemen
Steve Toll – Rochester Knighthawks
Thomas Hajek – Philadelphia Wings

Goaltender
Pat O’Toole-Rochester Knighthawks

WEST DIVISION
Forwards
Gavin Prout – Colorado Mammoth
Tracey Kelusky-Calgary Roughnecks
Craig Conn – Arizona Sting

Defensemen
Jay Jalbert – Colorado Mammoth
Brodie Merrill – Portland LumberJax (rookie)

Goaltender
Anthony Cosmo-San Jose Stealth


The twelve reserves for the East and West teams will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, February 14th. Each All-Star team will have a total of eighteen players, and all eleven NLL teams will have at least one player in the All-Star Game.

The East Division All-Stars will be coached by Rochester Knighthawks head coach Ed Comeau. Comeau will be assisted by Philadelphia Wings head coach Lindsay Sanderson. The West Division All-Stars will be coached by Arizona Sting head coach Bob Hamley. Hamley will be assisted by Calgary Roughnecks head coach Chris Hall.
