NLL Announces Game of the Week Broadcasts for US TV

The National Lacrosse League continues to expand its broadcast offerings with the announcement of a televised Game of the Week package for the 2006 season. The weekly syndicated broadcasts will bring NLL action into at least 30 million homes each week, with additional regions expected to join the broadcasts in the coming weeks. The league recently announced that all games this season will be broadcast live at nll.com via partnership with B2 Networks, and introduced LacrosseTV, a cutting edge broadband service that offers live and archived NLL games.

The Game of the Week broadcasts will air on some of the leading regional sports networks. Comcast Sportsnet affiliates in Chicago, Detroit, Northern California (CSN West) and the Southeast are among those scheduled to carry NLL broadcasts, along with Sportsnet New York, which is scheduled to launch in March. The games will also air in the Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Richmond, Virginia regions on CN8, a Comcast owned and operated network. Florida sports station Catch 47 will air games in the Tampa area.

Cable and broadcast outlets in additional regions are expected to join the Game of the Week package in the coming weeks. In addition to the stations mentioned above, the games also air on more than one hundred local television stations across the US. Please check your local listings for the broadcast dates and times in your area. The broadcasts will also be available on satellite from affiliates including CSN West, that are carried by DirecTV (ch. 656) and DISH Network (ch. 409)! Weekly broadcast times for the participating stations will be announced in the coming days.

The NLL Game of the Week brings the league's weekend action to regions across the country on weeknights for a tape delay broadcast. The first of fifteen weekly broadcasts takes place during the week of January 8-14, with a replay of the Arizona Sting at Toronto Rock game of January 7th.

"We're pleased to bring this weekly broadcast of the NLL into at least 30 million homes each week", said Commissioner Jim Jennings. "We expect to add several other regions to this package in the coming days and weeks."

The league's 20th season of professional indoor lacrosse begins on Friday, December 30th, as the Colorado Mammoth host the Philadelphia Wings at Pepsi Center in Denver. Gametime is 9pm Eastern/7pm Mountain.

In addition to the Game of the Week schedule, NLL teams will continue to broadcast games in their home regions. Team broadcast schedules are listed below and also be viewed at nll.com. Schedules are subject to change. Games are re-broadcast on Game of the Week stations beginning on Wednesday of each week. Check your local listings for the broadcast times and dates. The Game of the Week broadcasts will reach a minimum of 30 million US households each week.
