Knighthawks Moves

(Rochester, NOVEMBER 29)… Rochester General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has signed goaltender Cole Murray to a two-year deal. The team has also released forwards Ryan Small, Greg McIntyre, Wayne Burke and Dave Pittard, and defensemen Jonathan Durno and Justin Settle.

Murray was the Arizona Sting’s third-round selection (25th overall) in the 2003 National Lacrosse League Draft. He played this summer with the Peterborough Lakers of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Senior “A” league. He served as Pat O’Toole’s backup for the Lakers. In 2003, Murray was voted a First Team All-Star with the Victoria Shamrocks of the British Columbia Lacrosse Association Junior “A” series.

The Rochester Knighthawks continue their National Lacrosse League Training Camp on Saturday, December 10th at All Star Sports Arena in Irondequoit, NY. The weekend practice is scheduled from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the facility at 557 East Ridge Road. The practice is free and open to the public. Players and coaches will be available for autographs following the workouts.

The Rochester Knighthawks open their 12th season of professional lacrosse on Saturday, January 7th against the Colorado Mammoth at 9:00 p.m. at the Pepsi Center. Rochester plays its home opener on Saturday, January 14th against the National Lacrosse League defending champion Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. Last season, Rochester finished with a 10-6 record and advanced to the NLL Semifinals.
