Minnesota Swarm names Paul St. John Assistant Coach and Paul Stewart Director of Scouting

St. John, 41 (4/21/64), begins his first season behind the Swarm bench after serving as the team's director of scouting during the 2005 season. He completed his third season as co-owner, general manager and head coach of the Ontario Lacrosse Association's (OLA) Ajax-Pickering Rock Senior 'B' team this summer. St. John served as head coach of the OLA's Brooklin Merchants of the same league in 2002.
The Toronto, Ontario-native has been involved with lacrosse for over 30 years and has won four Mann Cups (Brooklin Redmen (2), Brampton Excelsiors and the Six Nations Chiefs), two Minto Cups (Whitby Warriors), the 1991 NLL Pro Championship with the Guelph Power and the Founder's Cup with the Scarborough Saints as a player. He has his wife, Antonella, have a daughter, Ashley, and two sons, John and Joshua.
Stewart, 30 (1/26/75), has been involved with lacrosse his entire life as a player, coach and manager. He played junior lacrosse with Scarborough, Caledon, Mississauga and Orillia and won the Founder's Cup with Orillia in 1995. Stewart also played major lacrosse with Ohsweken and Akwesasne and senior 'B' lacrosse with Brooklin. He was also named the first-ever captain of the Irish National Field Lacrosse Team. The lacrosse enthusiast has also served as a high school and minor league lacrosse coach.
Stewart serves as a police officer in the York Region and also works as a writer and editor for LAXMAG. Stewart and his wife, Troyhann, currently reside in Oshawa, Ontario.
