I think they're all safe this year. Where is the "none" option?

First, you left off Portland and Edmonton... but I think all of the playoff teams from last year (Toronto, Buffalo, Rochester, Calgary, Arizona, Colorado) will all be contenders again this year. The difference between the records last year of those six teams and the 4 non-contenders was ridiculous. The closest race for 3rd place was a 5 game separation. You can never count out Philly... and Minnesota is the most underrated team with a losing record (sounds funny, doesn't it?). They're smashmouth ball players with a lot of height on their side (at least they did last year), but that won't win the championship.

Either way, GO MAMMOTH!!!!!

Has the NLL MILL ever had a first year team fold?

The Ontario Raiders and the Montreal Express each only played one season before moving to different cities. The Raiders became the Toronto Rock after the 1998 season when the owners sold the team to the Assistant GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Montreal Express played only the 2001-02 season before 'folding'. The NLL sold the rights to new owners who took the Express and created the Minnesota Swarm last year.

The New Jersey Saints moved after their first year also, and became the New York Saints. The NY Saints played for 4 seasons (I believe) before going under.

The New Jersey Storm played 2 seasons before moving to Anaheim... and we know how that ended. Low ticket sales caused them to fold after the '05 season.

What have we learned from this? Don't start a team in Jersey.

Storm reps used to call me at home to buy tickets; definitely an annoying pr strategy. A very desparate team from the start.

You just have to get the right people in the front office. A great example is the Mammoth (not because they're a hometeam). That organization has moved from Baltimore to Philly to DC to Denver, where they finally got the right owners and execs. I feel like Jersey or Southeast NY would be able to handle a pro franchise... hopefully they will.

There was a team in Columbus for a year before they moved to Arizona? after one year. So many teams moved that year I never could remember who went where and who folded.
