JEFFERSON-PILOT TO BROADCAST 2005 MAMMOTH SEASON

Yet another step forward for Kroenke Sports and the Mammoth, but I'm not sure exactly how lacrosse will transfer to the radio . . .

01/31/05 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) Colorado Mammoth

DENVER – Kroenke Sports Enterprises, the owner of the National Lacrosse League’s Colorado Mammoth, announced today that Jefferson-Pilot Communications will air radio broadcasts of all remaining Mammoth games for the 2005 season, including this Friday’s match against the Calgary Roughnecks at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.

“This is terrific news for our fans,” Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. “For the first time since the Mammoth arrived in Colorado our fans will be able to follow the team every week.”

KSE and Jefferson-Pilot reached a multi-year agreement to broadcast the games. Six of the Mammoth’s 12 remaining games this season will air on KCKK-AM 1600, while KBJD-AM 1650 and KKFN-AM 950, Jefferson-Pilot’s flagship sports station, will each carry three.

“Lacrosse has proven to have great appeal to sports fans in Colorado,” Jefferson-Pilot general manager Bob Call said. “The sport’s popularity is growing very fast and we’re thrilled to be able to deliver this great product to the Mammoth’s tremendous fan base.”
