Denver, CO – The Colorado Mammoth will begin preparing for the 2007 season when it hosts training camp Nov. 11-15, highlighted by the Maroon and White intrasquad scrimmage on Nov. 12 at Pepsi Center.

The defending National Lacrosse League champions will open camp with practice on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Westminster Sports Center, the team’s suburban practice facility.

On Sunday, Nov. 12 the Mammoth will take the floor at Pepsi Center for the first time since its West Division title game victory over the Arizona Sting on April 29. The Mammoth’s 40-man training camp roster will be split into two teams for the Maroon and White scrimmage beginning at 6 p.m. The scrimmage is open to the public and free of charge. The team will be available to fans after the game for autographs.

Fans will also be able to take part in a “pick-the-team” contest by voting for the 23 players they think will be selected for the Mammoth’s opening night roster. Fan ballots that match the final roster will be entered to win one of two top prizes.

Ballots will be available soon at ColoradoMammoth.com and fans voting online will be entered to win a weekend ski vacation to Monarch Mountain. Ballots will also be available in local newspapers on Nov. 10 and at the Maroon and White scrimmage on Nov. 12. Fans submitting those ballots in drop boxes at Pepsi Center on Nov. 12 will be entered to win a free trip for two to the Mammoth’s game at Arizona on Jan. 5.

The Mammoth will return to Westminster for practice on Nov. 13 and 14 before breaking camp with a team function and dinner that night.

“We’re really looking forward to getting the team back together and playing the Maroon and White game in front of our fans for the first time,” Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. “We’ll have some new faces in camp and we’re expecting a spirited and competitive few days of practice.”

The Mammoth will reconvene in San Jose, Calif., for three days of practices Dec 1-3, including a scrimmage against the San Jose Stealth at the HP Pavilion on Dec. 2.

The team’s final training camp session will take place in suburban Salt Lake City Dec. 15-17, highlighted by an exhibition game against the Sting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the E Center in West Valley City, Utah.
